Incense Process Fig. 9
I had been negligent in my snuffing duties, and ran over to a growing flame. Without due caution, I huffed and puffed and blew that house in, destroying weeks worth of work in one thoughtless breath. Ah well, looks like a beach post-tsunami or a mountain sheared by mining, now.

What you can't tell is that he's bouncy. The red pieces aren't metal, but rather a plastic laminate of some sort--nice-n-bendy. So when he's dropped onto a flat surface and all his legs make equal contact, he takes a good hop.

so glad to see that you made something cool. It looks like it also feels good in your hand.

I am a huge fan of erector sets. When I was a child I received three different sets and I combined them all to create my own ski-lift like device for transporting gameboy game cartridges between my window and that of my neighbor.

I grew up with Erector sets (Mecano) as well, building the usual ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, cranes, cars, etc. Since then, my instinct has pretty much always been to craft animals, mostly small. Don't know why that feels right now.
Enjoyed your window,
A.

CovertFlow
Apparently 9A321, the latest Leopard build, contains Core Animation sample code, "including a sample implementation of how to recreate the Cover Flow view from iTunes".
It's wonderful to see them handing back the keys.
- Mick thought:

If they really have given it back they have exceeded my expectations many fold. What a great heritage and widespread distribution for you! Apple makes me proud!
- Andy thought:

Well not back to me, but back to the greater community. The thing is, as soon as they announced Core Animation at WWDC, we all new that CoverFlow was about to get a shit-ton easier to code than it had been before. The field had been leveled.
Clones, and things much better are about to start erupting everywhere, which is why it's rad they chose to just to put the technology out there. Let people take it.
Of course, I haven't seen the sample code yet. This is all conjecture. We'll know better come April or sooner.

Nearly precisely between the two oscillating rainbow buildings (Hotel Gansevoort, Theory) I have to pass each night.
